There are gonna be a lot of parts to this thing!
Welcome back to my KonMari tidyathon. Last time, we looked at my PJ bottoms and yoga pants, and they all stayed. (Here are links to all the parts of this project so far: Intro, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.)
Next up, skirts and shorts! They’re only two letters apart, so I figured they went together nicely. Here is my collection:
Not a huge collection, admittedly. I can hardly wear skirts anymore because I’m constantly on the floor with babies. It’s just not practical. But anyway, a funny thing happened when I applied my joy-o-meter to these items.
None of the skirts made it!
I was not expecting that. Here are the survivors:
Three pairs of shorts, people! These are truly my summer MVP’s, so I’m glad they made it. Only one of them has an elastic waist, though. Shame.
Why did none of my skirts spark joy? I do not know. But they did serve me well in the past, and for that I am grateful.
This is crazy. I’m not going to have any clothes left! It’s going to be interesting to see what happens when I get to the non-clothing categories. I’m picturing a near-empty house with just a few things that make me smile. That sounds pretty good to me.
Tune in next time for dresses! Spoiler alert: the wedding dress stays. I have in fact worn it not once, but twice, in a non-wedding context. Price per wear, man. I’m on a mission. Plus it keeps me honest letting-self-go wise. Ha!
See you soon!
